“Frankie James Pierce” is a long-time friend that I have reconnected with in his move back to the Bay Area.  He dropped by the house to say hello, we jumped on the mics, recorded an hour of freestyle, and BAMMM!!!--- now we have a fresh new sound to bring to the world!!  It was the Lord's timing, and perfect timing it is.

This is the FIRST of 3 Parts to a larger work, which will culminate into a 15 Track LP, released in shorter 5 Track EP's, giving time for the listener to digest the music and let it resonate with their soul.  I personally have benefited greatly from making these songs because it has pushed me more deeply into God's heart and who I truly am as a man; sometimes encouraging, sometime painful, but always leading towards glory.

It has taken several years to produce this album, and Parts 2 & 3 yet to be released, because I was learning to play the Alto Saxophone for the first time since 6th grade (I'm 43, for perspective!), learning to sing with actual singing lessons, and learning to mix & master my own music into a final production I could rest contently on, while trying to avoiding perfectionism.

I have been on a big learning curve as an artist & musician, not to mention the lessons of character that I had/have to wrestle through; mainly, denying the desire for people to approve, applaud, and affirm my self-worth for all my efforts-- which are meant to please Jesus, and give love to others by way of my talents.

I hope you hear beyond the music, my voice, and up towards heaven into “The King's Heavenly Concert Hall.”

Looking forward to the EP “Gentle Breeze Pt. 1” available FRIDAY, JUNE 28th!  It's a 5 Track album in which I explore my vocal ability and songwriting styles that have been buried under years of "just rappin'".  The Alto Saxophone is also featured in one of my more personally meaningful tracks, “Island Of Hope”, which started as a musical prayer of compassion, directed across the Pacific Ocean, while I imagine the people suffering from volcanic fallout struggling to survive and rebuild their lives.

The overall mood and spiritual theme of this EP is based on the truth that GOD will often communicate with us in the “gentle breeze” of of our everyday lives, so we are wise to slow-down and listen closely.  Try reading the Bible story of Elijah in 1Kings19:11-13.  This project is my first radical break away from throwing down verse after verse of hard-hitting rap, which I love and value, but wanted to give myself permission to explore the more gentle side of things.  I hope you enjoy it!

Why? Because I had to learn to sing, learn to mix and master, learn to believe, learn to promote my music-- learn, learn, learn!!  Beside the fact that the song itself was a healing balm to my soul as I have found refuge in the message of love and forgiveness that is in Christ.  So I am happy to share this song with you all.  Be on the look-out for the 2-Part EP release to come in the future, entilted: GENTLE BREEZE.
